Bruce and Kathy's 65 gallon REEF is entirely custom built. It features a 29 gallon refugium with an Energy Savers Needle Valve Skimmer, closed loop circulation, 250w 14K Halide and 03 Actinic Compact Fluorescent lighting.

Most of the fish in this system have been in Durango for at least two years and are fed a daily mixture of assorted frozen foods, prepared with a touch of crushed garlic.

Bruce had considered closing in the cabinet to create a more "finished" look, and may do this in the future. The main reason for not doing this has been that the refugium is currnetly home to a host of animals including a Mandarin Dragonet that has been happily feeding on the colony of mysis shrimp for over four years. He's now accustomed to eating prepared foods as well.
